What Are The Best Online Marketing Education Options?

Online Marketing Education

Have you been bouncing around the internet reading about the many types of online businesses?

Are you overwhelmed yet by the hundreds, if not thousands, of websites, blogs, books, infographics and more telling you many different ways to go starting your business?

I was for a long time.

I finally discovered a website that taught me affiliate marketing. Since it is where I learned, my number 1 recommendation for the best online marketing education is the website called Wealthy Affiliate. If you are not a member yet, read my review on Wealthy Affiliate where I (hopefully) answer all of your questions about their system.

I am going to be testing and reviewing a few other systems to see how they compare with the Wealthy Affiliate system to see if my recommendation changes.

What Is Affiliate Marketing?

For those who aren’t familiar with affiliate marketing, websites which sell products offer programs where bloggers can become affiliates. When affiliates refer their readers to those websites, they make a commissions.

Affiliate marketing is the best way to monetize your blog when you are first starting out. Jon Morrow at Smart Blogger has a pretty comprehensive blog post about the best ways to make money blogging.

Since most of my readers are aspiring or fairly new bloggers, I will be focusing on affiliate marketing, mostly because this is what I know.

One Important Note

Whether you pick Wealthy Affiliate or a different system, stick with one system through to its end.

Different systems can provide contradictory information. Trying to meld different systems can be paralyzing.

I do recommend supplementing your education with reading marketing books, reading popular blogs and listening to relevant podcasts to increase your online marketing knowledge.

  1. I have an Associate’s degree and my current job has nothing to do with my degree. In fact, my current job doesn’t require a degree at all. I think a degree is required for a few professions like doctors, dentists, and lawyers.

I am also with Wealthy Affiliate. I feel I learned more with WA than I did in college. I am confident I will achieve more with online marketing than I will at the traditional 9-5 desk job.

    1. Karin, I agree that there are certain professions that require a degree. My degree is in engineering and it was a requirement to get my professional licensure. I hope to get more flexibility from my online marketing efforts.

  2. Hi Amanda,
I too am a member with Wealthy Affiliate and was very surprised how straightforward their training course is.
I thought it would be like going back into education and having a boring time but no, it’s a wonderful role to which I enjoy.
Wealthy Affiliate’s training program will probably surpass most degrees for quality training.
    All the best,
    Simon.

    1. Simon, thanks for commenting. I agree that it hasn’t been boring at all. You are actively creating your own website through the whole process. If you don’t enjoy the training, then building your own blog might not be for you.
